Let's take your spine. Indulge me for a moment and put your mental attention on your spine. Use your mind to really feel your spine. Pretend nothing else exists - your spine is alone in the universe. If you're sitting up straight or standing, gently twist your body once to the left and once to the right while feeling your spine from the inside.

Now, keeping your attention on your spine, gently bend your spine forward from the waist (not the hips). Be conscious of your whole rib cage being attached to it. Then bend slightly backwards from the waist. Now do the same gentle forward and back bend from higher up on the spine, from the area behind your sternum.

What did you feel?  Do you feel how amazing this pole of universal joints is? Its amazing range of motion? If you experiment further, you'll notice that when you turn your head and torso to the right or left, you can turn only the upper spine, or the lower spine or both. It's absolutely amazing!

Hold out one arm straight in front of you at shoulder height, so your arm is parallel to the ground, your palm faces forward and your finger tips are pointing upwards.

You'll probably feel a "tug" running from your thumb to your wrist and along the inside of your arm. You may feel one running from you little finger to your wrist and along the outside of your arm as well. Those are tendon lines. If you rotate your arm so it's pointing out to the side, you'll feel the "tugging" sensations change - all of that is your tendon structure. And your body does have a magnificent tendon structure running all the way through it. But because Western physiology largely ignores it and thinks only about "muscle", you're probably unaware of your tendons.

Your muscle-tendon network holds your skeletal structure together. Again, when vitality is depleted, people don't take these structures through their range of motion anymore, so they atrophy. Then what happens?

Your joints are more likely to sustain injury. Energy flow is compromised because it depends on the integrity of the joints for flow. Posture is compromised because, without the proper soft tissues guaranteeing posture, you begin to compensate using other structures, leading to further problems. Deadly Spiral #4: Your Bone Marrow.

You were probably brought up with the idea that your bones are basically your scaffolding, that they're not really "alive" in the same sense your muscles or organs are alive.

Okay, you may know intellectually that's not true. But how aware are you really that your bones are alive??

When vitality is depleting, which in many cases starts happening quite visibly in people by their mid-thirties or even sooner, the bone marrow changes... Who cares? You need to and here's why:

The bone marrow manufactures your blood cells, constantly replacing old blood cells. Since every cell in your body depends on your red blood cells for oxygen and your immune system depends to a large extent on your white blood cells, any compromise in the quality and quantity of your blood cells is hardly good news.

Deadly Spiral #5: Your Joints

When you stop taking joints through their full range of motion, the ligaments holding them in place weaken. Joints become more vulnerable to injury. Toxins then build up in the joints. Energy, which depends partly on joint integrity for flow, is compromised. Posture is endangered...

Deadly Spiral #6: Your Breathing

While all this is happening, your breathing becomes more shallow and higher in the chest. What's the big deal? Just this: energy flow throughout the body depends on the integrity of the breathing process, so when your breathing becomes shallower, when the lungs are no longer used to capacity, your cells get less energy.

Breathing higher in the chest fails to massage the lower abdominal tract and detoxify it naturally, so you may end up with inefficient elimination and toxic build-up there too.

Chest breathing automatically wrecks your posture. As you breath higher, your posture becomes more like the "military" posture of troops at attention, which interrupts energy circulation in the Governing Vessel and strains the back.
